The senior museum consultant, Dr. Rodney Wilson believes that Dunedin must promoted as a heritage City because of its astonishingly well-preserved architecture. Dr Wilson, who is a former director of the Auckland Museum, recommended that the council explore with the Government the city's strong case to gain special status as a national heritage city. Furthermore, he suggests that Dunedin is the best preserved city from Victorian times to the 1940s, and that this status should be recognised. Moreover, Dunedin's buildings, architectural heritage, and "wonderful urban environment" were a product of the city's former wealth. Dr. Wilson said that the fabulous Dunedin deserves special recognition as a national heritage city special and unique heritage site.
The uniqueness of its alluring beauty is a wonderful gift from God that we have to give importance. We have to be responsible in this God-given gift. |
