New Zealand industry is now experiencing a slump time. They have very minimal foreign visitors that is first time in a decade. International tourists spent 9.3 billion New Zealand dollars (6.9 billion US dollars) in the 12 months ending March - 87 million New Zealand dollars less than the previous year, Statistics New Zealand reported. The decline was offset by more New Zealanders taking vacations at home and spending 12.4 billion New Zealand dollars, a rise of 2.6 percent on 2007-2008. Still International travellers remained critically important to New Zealand according to Bruce Bassett, research manager at the Ministry of Tourism.
Nothing is really permanent, sometimes we are experiencing this kind of recession but in time, they’ll be having a good industry when they could be able to surpass this kind of problem. Maybe a good project or advantages to the tourists will make them gain high percentage of tourists. [via w-tourism.com] |
